Wow.

Tigey and I have had the most peculiar last few weeks.

It all started off with Beanmom and beandad disappearing for a few days. Well Beandad kept showing up at odd times to feed us (thank goodness) but Beanmom was gone. She finally came back to us after what seemed like a cat year (Mom here: it was only three days) on the coldest day in March.

AND she brought us a present!! Tigey didn't notice but I did. I notice EVERYTHING.

She had brought me a sisfur except it has ver little furs.
I've been keeping a close eye on my new sisfur. For the most part, she's a typical kitten, sleeping a lot, and eating, she meows really loud sometimes. Really LOUD. She also does some very non-kitten things like has the hiccups. All the time. I don't remember getting hiccups like that when I was a kitten.

Tiger isn't too fussed. I think he might have sniffed her foot by accident last Thursday.

Our sisfur's name is Kiran Eliza and her purrthday was March 11, 2009. She weighed in at 6 lbs 13 oz and was 21 inches long.

A package from Derby!

Oooh! Derby sent me a giant package. Beanmom said that the package was for all of us including the baby bean that she keeps talking about, but I know it was really just for me. There was a lovely blankie that was in the package that beanmom took out before I could get to it. She said the Beanmom Janet made the blankie for the baby bean.

I still haven't smelt the blankie.

I don't think that's fair, do you?

Tigey and I inspected the box.

OMG. It everything inside just smelled amazing. Amazing like Derby had rubbed his stinky stuff on all of it.

I didn't want to get out of the box. Tigey said that I was a boxhog.

We got some glorious NIP. Two kinds and we had a nip party!

Oh I love the nip.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Derby and Beanmom Janet! Tigey and I really appreciate the special treats and gifts.

Beanmom is thrilled with the gift of the blankie and the booties.

Hello all in the cat blogosphere! I've been tagged by the GivesGoodScritches Mags Mac n Cheese to do a post on Seven Facts about myself. Here goes...

1. I can be invisible - Here's photographic evidence

2. I love to eat grass. I love cat grass that my beans get from the store and I love going outside to eat grass. (Beanmom, can we get some more grass?)

3. Beanmom takes me out on a leash for walks. (We need more walks beanmom!)

4. I'm a super huntress. I hunt buggies and I've been hunting the ceiling mouse and the wall mouse. I haven't caught them yet, but I will.

5. I've blogging since 2005. Wow! I was inspired to start blogging by of Timmy and WMD and Max. Two weeks after I started blogging, my woofie crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. He was fun and I miss him. I recently got on Twitter and it's fun. You can see my twitter feed on the side of my blog there or go to http://twitter.com/princessmia

6. I've survived two hurricanes in Houston! Hurricane Rita and Hurricane Ike. I was at grandbeanmom's house both times. Both times, they were not scary hurricanes! Beanmom was scared so I had to take care of her.

7. I've done the seven random things about me post before but I forgot. When I looked at the other post, I have some of the same things on there.

Well it's been three weeks since Hurricane Ike blew through Houston. There are still people without power in the city, but almost everyone has got their power back.

Safe at home

Tigey and I are safe at home now. We got electricity back on Tuesday afternoon. Thank you CenterPoint Energy! We're so glad to be at home. There's nothing like sleeping in your own beds!

My Gotcha Day!

Thank you every poodin for all the special Gotcha Day wishes! We made it through the hurricane. There was loud winds and the trees bent to all funny yoga positions. I didn't know that trees could do yoga.

There was rain and loud noises. We didn't flood but we did lose power at GrandBeanmom's house. Tigey and I have been laying on the tile floor of GrandBeanmom's kitchen and it's delightful.

My beans went to check on our house and it was untouched by the storm. A lot of the trees around our house had broken and some were leaning on the power lines but nothing fell on our house. Yay!

The City of Houston is taking good care of it's peoples. CenterPoint Energy is working hard to restore power. We're keeping our paws crossed that we'll have power again soon.

There's a super giant storm in the Gulf of Mexico and the people on TV are saying that it's coming straight for us!

We are not near the coast and not near the water and we are staying put.

We're hoping that it's going to be like Rita in 2005, but the beans think that it's going to be worse.

Keep your paws crossed for us!

If you are in the Houston/Galveston area, be safe out there!

Happy 4th to all my dear friends in the cat blogosphere! Be safe out there and look out for each other.

It's been a hectic few weeks since my beans have been back.

1. Tigey got a UTI.
2. Then grandbeanmom from Singapurr had to go into hospital.
3. Then grandbeanmom from Singapurr got released from the hospital.
4. Tigey got better from his UTI.
5. We got some new fangled high fibre weight loss food.
6. Then grandbeanmom from Singapurr had to go into hospital again.
7. Many many purrs for the family.
8. Grandbeanmom got out from the hospital a fews days ago and we are very glad.
9. Beanmom got some extra green papers from work (this means more crunchies for us). Yay!
10. New neighbour tuxie comes to visit.

Bean mom need to use a screw driver for something so she got the tool box out of the cupboard.

You know what that means.

I have to investigate the empty shelf where the tool box lives.

You can't just have an empty shelf sitting there without checking it out.

It's quite deep, this shelf. I investigated it thoroughly. I didn't find anything to eat or play with on the shelf. That was a little disappointing.

Ack, bath day

Today started out like a normal Sunday. Tigey and I had breakie at 7, Tigey went to take a nap in his doughnut bed.

Beanmon took me out for a lovely walk. While we were out, Upstairs Neighbour's Kitty (UNK) strolled up and sat down and watched Beanmom and I. I walked over to say hello but UNK was too shy.

After a while, Beanmom took me inside and that's when the day took a turn.

She whisked me into the bathroom and the horror of the bath began. I expressed my extreme displeasure and tried to make break for it.

Seventy two times.

Finally, the horror ended and I was wrapped in a towel and placed in front of the heater.

Then, the very same fate befell Tigey. Now, you know Tiges is the strong silent type, he was very quiet but he wasn't pleased. I couldn't save him but I think he got off easy. His bath took half as long as mine.

What a day! I had a super long nap afterward.

Adventure with Upstairs Neighbour Kitty

Dear Cat blogosphere,

I've woefully neglected my blogging duties. I completely blame the beanmom for this.

(Beanmom here, and I take full responsibility)

She has been busy with all her busy things and hasn't been letting me on the puter.

Tigey and I are doing just fine. It's warming up here in Houston and every weekend I demand to be taken for a walk. Sometimes I get taken out, sometimes they just open the window.

Last weekend, I was sitting on the window sill, looking out the screen when Upstairs Neighbour Kitty came to challenge me.

Here he is on the back porch. Anyway, he came to the front window to tease me through the screen. I wasn't happy about this, as you can imagine.

I leaned on the screen and it gave just enough for me to squeeze between the window and the screen and I WAS OUT.

Oh, I SHOWED HIM.

Upstairs Neighbour Kitty RAN and hid under a car which meant that I ran right after him to the car. He was too scared to come out. I just paced up and down in front of the car.

Beandad came outside and snatched me up and put me back in the house and closed the window. He had to repair the screen to make sure that i wouldn't be able to push it open again (Sorry Beandad).

I don't know why he ran, he was taunting me to come out. It's not like we've never met before.

Where does the time go. Beanmom is busy on the computer so I haven't had a chance to blog lately. It's been getting warmer here so I've been asking to go outside a lot. Tigey's been taking advantage of the warmer temperatures to snooze in some sun spots.

Tigey got a new giant litter box. This thing is HUGE. It's so big that when beanmom goes to clean it, she says that it's like going for an archaeological dig.

Speaking of new things, did you see the beautiful Gizzy Quilt that my sweetie Derby got? It's gorgeous.

Cousin Casey has crossed over the bridge

Sad news to report today, everyone. My cousin Casey had to be helped across the bridge yesterday. She lived with my beanmom's sister in Ireland. She was 12 years old and they said that she had kidney failure.

It was sudden and my beanmom and Casey's beanmom and everyone who knew Casey are very sad.

My beanom keeps hugging and petting Tigey and me. Go give your bean a headbutt.

We had a good visit with Auntie Jill. I'm looking forward to her next visit!

She suffers from COPD and is having a bad episode. Beanmom may be going home to Singapore.

Beanmom just spoke to her dad and mom and her mom is feeling a lot better today than from the past four days. She is still in hospital and Grandbeandad is still worried but feeling better as well.

Tigey's visit to the Dentist

A few sleeps ago, Beanmom took Tigey and I to the vet to get stabbed and have our annual check up. The Vet said that Beanmom should bring Tigey back to get his teeth cleaned.

Well, Tigey had his appointment.

He was not happy because he had to starve, but I think the worst part was I had to starve too!!
In the morning, Beanmom brought out the cage and I didn't stick around to see what happened next. I know what the cage means!

After a while, I came out of my hiding spot, and Tigey and Beanmom were gone.

Beandad brought Tigey home in the afternoon. He was starving and ran to eat right away. He ate his whole bowl and then went to eat out of my bowl too. Beandad wasn't happy and had to squirt him with the water squirter. Beanmom wasn't happy with Beandad when he did that.

Tigey let me know that he had a good sleep at the dentist and when he woke up, his mouth felt all funny but he still had all his teeth.

I'm glad I didn't have to go.

Well, it's not my exact Gotcha Day, cos that kinda of spanned over a few days, but September is my Gotcha Month.

It was three years ago that I came to live with my forever beans. The had a big dog at the time but he's since gone to the bridge. Now I have a new brofur, Tigey, to terrorize, I mean, take care of.

I have a special Sweetheart Cat, an interspecies crush and lots of online feline friends. For my Gotcha Day, I'd like to celebrate with the traditional shrimpies and nip.

Made it out OK

Well, we made it out OK from the v-e-t. I got poked and prodded and Tiger tried to play it off by pretending to sleep. I thought that was a good idea so I pretended to sleep as well.

It didn't work.

I still got stabbed in the butt.

Tigey picked a bad place to pretend to sleep. He picked the scale. So of course the v-e-t had no doubt as to what his exact weight is. Uh-oh.

Although he lost a whopping quarter pound since last year, Beanmom still came home with a bag of Calorie Control food for Tigey. I had a taste of it and it wasn't too bad. Tigey really liked it.

The v-e-t said that I was a good weight but "big for a girl cat". Excuse me?

The v-e-t inspected Tigey's mouf and said that he should come back for a dental exam. Uh-oh. Luckily my teeth are good, so I don't have to come back for that. I've never had a dental exam and I'm pretty sure neither has Tigey so I hope it's OK.

I'll let you know. Beanmom has to schedule the appointment on Monday.

It's time for a nap after all that.

Well, I'm sure you've noticed that I've been MIA from the cat blogosphere this past couple of weeks. I blame it entirly on beanmom.

She's been either hogging the computer or she's been too lazy to turn it on so I can get on to blog or visit other poodies in the blogosphere.

I finally got a chance to blog tonight but I'm forced to blog from her Blackberry which is extremely difficult if you don't have opposoble thumbs.

I wouldn't recommend it at all but at least I can post and visit other poodies in the blogosphere.

It's taking me a little while to get around all the sites but I'll get there!

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Gretchen. This beautiful torti hails from Willamette Valley in Oregon, where she lives with her beans D and P. She arrived on the wings of an angel just when she was needed to nurse her lady bean's spirit. She came to live with them on June 13, 2004.

Gretchen is a lovely lapcat. She has a beautiful voice and loves purring in her bean D's lap when she crochets, reads, or watches TV. She likes getting belly rubs, and back scratches from her bean P. Getting a good brushing, playing with her pink balls, and new feathers or snacking. She loves her ladybean D and enjoys sleeping in D's bed, on D and under D's covers.

Gretchen also loveloveloves her ManCat Yoggie, a handsome Cat Poet who lives in Sweden.

Upstairs neighbor has a new cat

Oh my what an eventful day! Beanmom took me outside today for a little walkabout. I got to eat some grasses and roll on the cement, which is super fun. We walked for long while and then beanmom whisked me back into the house.

A few hours later, she heard a meowering outside the kitchen. It didn't sound like the Meezer neighbour who likes to meower. She went to 'vestigate. She looked out the window and then looked out the door but didn't see anything.

She opened the door and I went zoom out the door! and under the deck and there he was. An itty bitty black kitty meowering up a storm.

Meow.

Meow.

Meow.

Reow.

I didn't know who this little guy was. Beanmom went in and came back out with some stinky goodness and the lil' guy ran right out to snarf down the stinky goodness. Just then, the neighbour lady came walking by with her human kitten and woofie and she told us that the little kitty was their new kitty.

They started talking and I was still under the deck. Beandad came outside with a bag of Greenies to tempt me out from under the deck but nothing is more tempting than being under the deck!

After a while, I decided to come out and Beanmom grabbed me to bring me back into the house. She introduced me to the new kitty, Spy. He seemed like a harmless kitty but I didn't appreciate him being under my deck and meowering so.

I don't have any photos but I will post as soon as I get some of the new guy.

Female Feline Friday - Miss Peach

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Miss Peach aka Covergirl. This distinguished Capricorn beauty came to live with her forever mom and dad in Washington when she was nine years old. She was given up by her previous people and was rescued by her now mow who needed Miss Peach for a very special assignment.

Miss Peach was designated as the Catpanion of her Beanmom's mom who was very sick. According to Miss Peach,

"My job was to keep her company until she went to her rainbow bridge. At first she didn't want me because she didn't like cats at all, so I hid under the couch. Then when she wasn't looking,I came out and gave her a big head butt and a sandpaper kiss... My title was being a 'CATpanion' to her mommy during her last days. I did my job very well.."

Miss Peach is a delicate cat with Victorian sensibilites. She adores the luxury of a sunshine nap.; watching the birds outside her window and having her tummy rubbed. She likes to wander in her garden. She is an extremely persuasive cat and is known to convince her beanmom at the bat of an eye and a headbutt to turn on the faucet for her to drink from.

One of her early loves was Henry who is now at the Bridge and her main ManCat is Ali, she is Ali's Lovely Ladycat.

Thursday thirteen review

I don't think I've ever done a Thursday Thirteen but I just saw one of the best Thursday Thirteens. On Skeeter and LC's blog, LC wrote a Thursday Thirteen all about their beandad who they call The Big Thing.

They followed their Beandad around and tracked his movements and wrote about what he does. I'm inspired by this post to do my own investigate report on my beandad! Anycat who would like to join me on this quest, let me know!

Beanmom had her camera out today and was taking photos of me as I was peeking out the window in the bedroom.

Of course I turned around to oblige her. It's been a while since I've had my photo taken.
I practiced a few poses. I call this one "Dreaming of Derby".
After a while, I got tired of being photographed and the flashy thing was put away.

Female Feline Friday - Marilyn Monreow

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Marilyn Monreow. This sparkling beauty lives with her beans and her feline family of Calamity Jane, Dora the Explorer, Chairman Mao and her late brofur, Moonlight in East Tennessee.

Marilyn appeared on the back porch of her forever home in 2006. Her beans were so taken with her beauty and grace they took her in to join their family. Marilyn is pure white and has one blue eye and one gold eye. She is partially deaf on the blue eye side.

Marilyn is a prolific poet. Her muse is her ManCat, the ruggedly handsome Mickey Mantle, a New York legend. She loves daydreaming about Mickey. Of Mickey, Marilyn says,

"We have so much in common: we're both white kitties, we're both romantics, and we love poetry."

Marilyn is the most outgoing cat in the house, she loves investigating new comers and adores lap time and snuggling. She is also a graceful jumper.

Female Feline Friday - Skittles

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Skittles. This tantalising feline beauty lives with her lady bean, WW. She had a rough beginning when she was found as a three month on kitten in a warehouse adjacent to base housing at the Naval Base in Port Hueneme, California. Her first bean got deployed to Iraq and had to leave her behind. She was taken in by a lovely lady bean who already had three other kitties. Skittles had a hard time adjusting to the other cats so Skittles' second human pet called her best friend WW who took Skittles in and fell in love with her.

Skittles is also known as Skittles the huntress. She loves to hunt lizards and beetles and finches and chipmunks and hopes to eat a quail one day.

She is also an avid yogini practicing and teaching Bikram yoga. Her classes fill up quickly and you must register early.

Skittles is running for president with her beau SlyCat. She writes excellent poetry and also republishes poems. Those who know her, knew that she fell for Derby Sassycat. Sadly, it didn't work out with Derby, and a multitude of suitors lined up for dear Skittles' affections but SlyCat remains her one and only Mancat.

Female Feline Friday - Harlie

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Harlie. This Tuxie beaut lives with her brofur, Mattingly, and their beans in Mew York, Mew York. Her beans found her on Petfinder and she came to live with her forever family.

When she was old enough, she went to have her lady gardenectomy. When she came home, she was super hyper and managed to lock herself in the bathroom. The bathroom couldn't be unlocked from the outside, so her beandad had to

"had to chip away at the outside of the door and door jamb until he could get a screwdriver in to push the bolt"

Harlie also has the amazing talent of opening bathroom doors from the outside.

She loves her brofur Mattingly. She enjoys napping on him and playing with him and partaking in the nip with him. She is a very curious cat.

Female Feline Friday - Olivia

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Olivia. This beautiful Torti lady lives with her brofur, William (of Mass Destruction) and sisfur, Caroline and their beanmon in Albuquirky, Mew Mexico. Her older brother, Eddie, went to the Bridge in February 2007. Olivia came to live with her forever mom from a shelter. She had her gardenectomy and because of it she now has a kangaroo in her. The Kangaroo is always up to mischief. Caroline is a little scared of the 'roo, too.

Olivia only allows you to pet on her head, any where else will result in her putting on the bite. She means business! Must be the 'roo. She practices yoga and has perfected her signature pose (that she created) called The Princess Point.

Olivia enjoys playing with her brofur and even give him baths. She is always investigating, especially inside of closets and cupboards. Her favorite time of day is in the morning when she spends special time with her beanmom in the bathroom talking to her about anything and everything.

Olivia sometimes writes on her brofur William's blog.

Eek! It's Thursday and I haven't posted all week. Beandad's been on vacation and I've been hanging out with him.

I've also been reading the blogs this week and many of our cats in the community have gone to the Bridge. It makes me sad to read the stories of our friends but at least we know they were greatly loved.

Female Feline Friday - Momma Grace

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Grace. This gorgeous Ginger momma lives with her two kittens, Audace and Ruse, and their beans in nearby Spring, Texas. Momma Grace was rescued from the pound with her four kittens by the lovely beanlady, Deb, who fostered the kittens and found homes for them. Grace found her forever home with two of her kittens and the other two found forever homes in Mew Jersey.

Grace is a member of the Gorgeous Gingers (of course!). She loves playing with the laser toy and her boys of course. Her favorite nap spot is the top of the couch. She is a super excellent momma cat. Grace was Kat's Cat of the Day last September.

The Mystery Cat

The mystery cat featured in my Wordless Wednesday post is a very famous cat from Austin, Texas, named Dusty. Dusty lives with the lovely folks that own and run Wild About Music, the worlds first and only art and gift gallery dedicated entirely to music.

Beanmom met Dusty when she was in Austin for SXSW earlier this year. We've been meaning to post about him for a while now.

Dusty hangs out in the gallery and is the gallery's guard cat. Beanmom said that Dusty was a super chill cat and enjoyed getting scritches.

Female Feline Friday - Mia

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Mia. This beautiful lady lives with her beans and sisfur Ghost and woofie, Baby Girl, in Alabama. She is part Meezer with lovely blue eyes and a Meezer voice. Mia came to live with her forevermom when her forevermom's sister rescued her when her (meanie) former "owners" moved away and left Mia behind.

Mia loves to go into the bathroom and meow. The bathroom amplifies her meow and that's just how she likes it. She is very vocal when she wants something and makes her thoughts known. Mia enjoys eating human food like shrimpies and chicken.

Mia is my SuperNameTwin. We both have the same name and we were both named after the same soccerbean; the super Mia Hamm.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Zoey. This mysterious Tuxie hails from parts unknown. She lives with the foster kitties, the Furballs, aka the Zoo Crew, and her beans. Zoey came to live with her forever beans when she was about eight weeks old, thirteen years ago. Her furmom was abandoned by her (mean) beans but was recued by a nice ladybean when she was pregnant with Zoey and her brofurs. She came to live with her forever beans and her brofur, McKenzie who went to the Bridge, just this year.

Zoey loves to eat. She loves chicken and she absolutely loves Temtayshuns. Actually, she's a little obsessed with the beef Temptayshuns. She got very sick from the bad cat food and she had to be put on an IV drip. She was interviewed by the newspaper who reported that she went to the Bridge. But she didn't!

Zoey once stalked a live wild turkey on her grandbeans' property. She never did catch that bird! Who knows what she would have done if she did! She likes to relax by hanging out on the back of the couch.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Sadie. This gorgeous Tuxie hails from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. She lives with her sisfur, Princess Ziporah (the CEO), brofur, Speedy, and her beans. Sadie was living as a single mom under the bushes of a lovely ladybean. The ladybean took Sadie and her babies to the shelter where she worked. All of Sadie's babies got adopted but nobody adopted Sadie. She was about to be transfered to another shelter in another state when she was finally adopted by her forever beans.

Sadie enjoys playing with her brofur Zippy and especially enjoys watching Zippy play with his sponge ball. She loves to play with the sparkle balls and milk jug rings, herself. She is also known to partake in the nip and is a member of the new Tuxedo Gang Hideout.

Sadie has a crush on Rocky the Gutter Cat. She says he's one hot man cat!

This regal feline has a favourite puppy dog, Mooch, who is her protector. Sia enjoys milk, loves chasing her mice and has been known to partake in the nip. She enjoys going out with her harness and leash and likes to watch the birdies and the squirrels.

Super Lazy Weekend

What a super lazy weekend I've had. Tigey has been laxing in the back of the house and I've been laxing in the front of the house. Then we'll switch places. I'll take the back and he'll take the front.

Beanmom bought me some grass from Petco, which I always enjoy. In between snacking, I've been lazing around the house and making sure that my beans are taken care of. I try to get beanmom to sit still but she's always moving around. The woman obviously doesn't know how to relax like a cat can relax.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Samantha Black. This beautiful tuxie lives with her beans CF, Jim, beangramma Rosie and brofur, Tigger in Florida. She has known her beans from the moment she was born, four years ago. Her feline mom had in the garage that belonged to her beans. They even got to see Samantha be born. Her beans found homes for all the kitties including the mama kitty.

Samantha likes napping on the computer chair, her favourite toy is the fuzzy ball and she has the floofiest tail ever. Ever the socialite, Samantha is a member of the Pink Ladies and the new Tuxedo Gang Hideout. She is also the Queen of Sleeping in Baskets.

Samantha is relatively new to blogging and she sometimes shares her blog with her beanmom. Her beanmom, CF, looks after gramma Rosie who has Alzheimer's and she sometimes writes about taking care of Rosie. Samantha also has her very own Catster page for her fans.

I was an abondoned kitty when the people I was living with moved out and left me behind. My forever beans lived next door and took me in.

Female Feline Friday - Ginger The Cat

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Ginger. This pretty lady lives with her beans and sisfurs in Portland, Oregon. Born in 1999, Ginger celebrates her purrthday on May 16. She came to live with the next door neighbor of her beans, but the neighbor decided that Ginger was to be an indoor/outdoor kitty, except he never let her indoors. After a month of watching this, her forever mom, took her in and she's been with her beans and her sisfurs, Quest and Shygurl ever since.

This discerning feline enjoys a good nap on top of the TV, her beanmom's lap, and her favorite treat of $21.99/lb maguro minced thankyouverymuch. She takes good care of herself and she has a secret beauty mark on her nose.

Ginger dislikes the vacuum, the leaf blower, her sisfurs and having her tail touched. She is known as the master snuggler and has super powers over her beanmom and can make her do her bidding.

This entreprenuerial kitty also has her own shop and a webcam.
